Singing is the means that God desires mankind to use in worship through the very instrument He
designed for praise: the human voice. While some believe music is born into certain men, it is a
developed ability, thus ‘a good’ that the Master has left His servants to return to Him with
growth. This class is designed as an abbreviated, online self-paced course to help any Christian
in learning basics about music, improve one’s singing ability or leading songs, and increase one’s
Bible knowledge regarding music in scripture.
This class is unique from TCSOPCD general course offerings in that students have a choice in
deciding which parts of the course they desire to pursue. There are four different tracks available
during this abbreviated 6-week course. They are as follows:
- Bible Knowledge (BK) – learn the use and commands regarding music in the Old & New Law.
- Singing (S) – learn to improve your voice through song & exercises.
- Song Leading (SL) – learn to improve your ability in leading songs for the congregation.
- Music Theory (MT) – learn to read and understand basic music terms, symbols, & notes.
